I'm a trainee journalist at Bournemouth University with Crohn's Disease and am putting together a radio feature on whether there is any truth behind if leisure activities such as football or music can have unknown health benefits on people with IBD. If you or anyone you know would be up for talking to me and helping raise awareness, please let me know! Many thanks, Stephen Wright.

I have collagenous colitis and I find that the following things help somewhat but do not make my spasms go away entirely: relaxing with music, meditation , deep breathing, and going on a semi - liquid diet for a week or two to give the intestines a rest ; i.e. soup with a slice of bread or crackers, jello, juice, popsicles , herbal tea, apple sauce, more jello, a little pop with the bubbles stirred out of it ( not too much pop/soda cuz the bubbles cause gas), and toast with jelly. All breads, cookies, crackers, etc. that I eat are gluten and dairy free, in fact everything I eat is GF. Then I slowly add chicken, rice, canned peaches, a few veggies (not too much fiber yet as it makes things worse when I am in an attack), and more jello.Soy based or rice based ice cream is OK too , just not too much cause of the high fat content. Good Luck.

I don't know if you're still looking for people but I would be willing to participate.

IBDf seems to travel in a sine wave. At the top youi have a flare up and bloody dairhea. At the bottom you have constipation. If you happen to be in the lower wave , whatever you are doing you attribute to helping stop your flare up. Baylor U medical school internal med school recently published a paper concluding that after reviewing 40,000 papers on IBD, there is nothing that will delay or stop a flare up.
When in the constipation phase take laxatives to get your large intestine going. When in the diarhea phase take candidase and budesonide.
Those will only help with symptoms.
All of us are searching for a magic bullet which i think does not exist.

UC and Crohn’s effects everyone differently, and various treatments work with various degrees of success. Also, both diseases can go into remission at any time, for no apparent reason. If you scan this website, you’ll see all kinds of things that have apparently helped lessen symptoms or cure the disease. Lifestyle and diet changes seem to work for some, but I’ve never heard of soccer or music doing so, except under the theme of reducing stress, which does sometimes help.
