CONSTANT symptoms

Tue, April 24, 2018 2:59 AM

Hey everyone-
This is my first time on a support forum and I really need to just put this out there and see what others say. So I’m 25, and I’ve had chronic sickness and pain for YEARS. Doctors have consistently said it appears to be chrons (on top of confirmed celiac), but I was in the military prior to now. They wouldn’t do the colonoscopy and endoscopy. I’ve now seen two civilian doctors, they’ve both said the same thing. the doctor I chose to go with costs around 4K to get the colonoscopy and endoscopy done after my insurance 🤦🏼‍♀️. I had a CAT scan done though because of the inflammation, and the doctor again said he believes it will Be chrons. Of course they can’t confirm until I get the others procedures done which means no meds yet. My symptoms are almost consistent (every couple weeks and will last a couple weeks on and off) and I’m absolutely miserable:
-overwhelming nausea, from anything I eat other than salmon and veggies. I don’t consume dairy or red meat any more, and no gluten.
-terrible pain, I feel it often in my upper abdomen as well as lower right and left.
-bloating.
-pressure in stomach, unbearable.
-the obvious, diarrhea. After a bad flare up, sometimes I experience constipation.
-I get feverish, sweaty and chills.

really I’m just on here to get confirmation that my symptoms happen or have happened to others, and I’m not alone. Can any of you relate? Going through this for so long makes me feel so isolated from others. I don’t know anyone who gets sick like I do. Thank you.

Crohn's and colitis run in my family. Both my twin brother and I had it. He wanted to join the army and they denied him because of the Crohn's. I've spent weeks in the hospital on steroids coping with the pain and inability to do anything normal that I've wanted to. By nothing short of a miracle, we both regained our health entirely. It may sound too good to be true, but I swear on all things holy it is.

Our father had a law partner who also had crohn's for the better part of 13 years before he found a supplement called Australian Excellence. His law partner already had his bowel resectioned, but after being on the product for 7 years his doctor says his scopes reveal his j-pouch to be as healthy as the day they were formed and his intestines to have no further inflammation or bleeding. He convinced our dad to make my brother and I try this product and truth be told it worked for us too! Please just try it, it will absolutely help you. My brother has now finished a full tour in Iraq and even brought the supplement with him overseas to keep him healthy. It really works! Here's a video they've done on youtube for promotion: https://fbit.co/7kc6

I know this must sound too good to be real, but please believe me and give it a go. It can only help!!

Hello, Don't do the endoscopy or the colonoscopy. Do the the capsule endoscopy it more effective and if they do the another they miss the middle and you will have to do capsule endoscopy then. It happen to me. It like do it twice and you can't eat after for about 4 hours plus the day before you can't eat. It's horrible but it's better than doing it twice. The colonoscopy and endoscopy makes you clean out your intestines and then you have to do the capsule endoscopy if they don't find anything. I am sorry you don't feel well and your doctor's aren't helping you. Try laying on your stomach when you have pain for about 15 to 20 minutes will help with the pressure.

To Avirg123,

I am also new to this forum and am a caregiver to my 22 year old son who was diagnosed with Crohn's in August 2017  While I am not a Dr. and cannot say with certainty that your symptoms are from Crohn's, my son had the same symptoms you describe and are common to Crohns patients.
For us the diagnosis process was long and frustrating but in the end the Drs needed to make sure they are dealing with Crohn's and not something that may be treated with less invasive methods.

I feel your pain. I have colitis and was run thru the mill at the VA. colonoscopy and endoscopy are not needed for treatment but that is how gi guys make their money. I found family docs are the best for symptoms. I am a dentist , ex military pilot and author of medical things. I question foctors until they are tired of me. I have concluded gi guys care nothing about quality of life. They want only to scope and to be able to say you didnt die on their watch. I luckily found a gp who suffered from colitis and he put me on budesonide which is great. Costs $10  capsule so va doesnt prescribe it, but go to canadapharmacy.com and get generic for $1 per cap but must order 50 at a time. There is no prevention to a flare up. No diet, no meds. But budesonide calms symptoms immediatly. After my flare and hospital satu took 2 years to get to normal.bud is for the days you feel something coming on. I developed ascites and bp meds eliminate that for me. It is a struggle for the first few years but i can now go to disney or an 8 jour plane ride as long as i prep with a bud before the day. Dont take snything everyday. Its not needed and makes you dick in other ways and wastes money. If you dont like one foc go to another. Dont feel bad sbout switching docs. BewRe of yhe scoping docs
