Prisoner to the bathroom

Mon, November 12, 2018 11:12 AM

I've been in a flare for over 2 months now. Dr won't put me on prednisone. He has me on humira 40mg weekly and uceris 9mg daily. Prednisone is usually the only medication that helps with the extreme stomach pain and extreme urgency to use the bathroom. Well recently the pain has gotten so bad that now when I'm on the toilet trying to relieve myself I get so nauseous that I throw up as well. So I'm literally always stuck in the bathroom pooping and puking at the same time. Anyone have an recommendations on how I can ease some of this pain?????

Hello,

my original doctor had me on Uceris 9mg. when I was first diagnosed in May 2018.  I had to convince him to put me back on Prednisone so that I could eat.  Also, I am a severe ulcerative colitis patient.  Needless to say, I have switched doctors.  My new doctor, confirmed that the Uceris can casuse stomache pain.
I do know how it feels to have a flare month after month.  Currently, I am on Prednisone and Remicade but I am convinced that Remicade is not working.
I wish you the best of luck and may be changing doctors might be the answer.

Your need to either go to a new doctor or go straight to the ER.  I've been going through a flare for two months now too and I know how badly fatigued I get with the shitting. But you are vomitting too, losing way too much fluids. They gave me prednisone but it didn't work so I am on remicade now.

Hope you feel better.

You may want to consider another doctor.  Prednisone was the only thing that worked for me, and I suffered the long term consequences but if you are only using it for the occasional flares you might be ok with it.
