Mesalamine

Has anyone else had problems getting Mesalamine or the Asacol HD approved through your insurance companies?  It took me 3 months last year to get it approved and apparently the “authorization form” my Dr. submitted last year has expired.  Now I’m having to go through this whole process again to get it approved.  If I had not persisted with my insurance company i wouldn’t have got the drug that works at all.  It would have cost me about $2,000 per month instead of the $10 a month I now pay.  It’s been worth the hassle, but I’m wondering if all insurance companies are doing this to people who need his drug?

I have had two re sections and gall bladder removed.  Diarea had taken over my life.  I found that Pentassa was causing my acute diarea.  Keep an eve on it.  I was taking 2 caps 4 t day.
