General question???

I'm a 56 yo male ...I've had 2 colonosopies this far..the most recent was 12/29/16 so abt 2.8 yrs ago. During that one as the Dr was doing procedure (I'm never knocked out) he said there was inflammation throughout colon. Of course this was alarming as I really didn't want to hear anything until he was finished and I was in recovery. Anyhow lab report came back as mild to moderate colitis..now I never had symptoms except when I was diagnosed with IBS long ago. Since the colitis diagnoses I never really had issues. Now I feel like I am. Cramping..loose stools..etc. Wow long way to go for my question sry. Once diagnosed how long before I should get another colonoscopy?

Hey OP,

I'm not sure if this will be the best answer you'll get, but it may depend on wht your GI is wanting to do. HE/She may  want to confirmt he diagnosis first and do another one soon, or they may want to get you started on a therpay, like steroids or something to see if that takes care of the symptoms and then after some time on the medication do a colonoscopy to see how youre colon is fairing with your medications.
