What are you doing to help during a Chrons flare up? I have Chrons since April 2019. Whenever I have a severe flare up that prevents me from eating or drinking, or that made me throw up, or produces a lack of appetit and a lack of energy, I head directly to the ER where they pump out everything from my stomach and keep me on IV and meds for 3 days. If its a mild flare up where I feel the abdominal pains but I can still drink fluids, I just stop eating food and just drink liquids like Gatorade, chicken broth, and take a zofran pill the moment I feel like throwing up. Are there any other ideas I can try to help ease the pain during a flare up? In the hospital they gave me Dilaudid which works great, but unfortunately did not prescribe me that after being released. Usually its my gut becoming inflamed and it feels like my gut is turning into a rock hard stone when it flares up, then the gut relaxes, and it cycles like this throughout the night sometimes. I was considering smoking indica cannibis to help with sleep and pain management, but wanted to know if anyone has tried this yet and if it had any interactions with their daily meds? Are there any meds that your Dr. has given you to deal with the random unwanted movements in the gut? Sometimes Ill be in the middle of a movie and my gut would burst out in a loud gurgling sound. Anything I can take or drink to quickly tame down the gut? I just want to know what some of your symptoms are and what you do to deal with them. Thank you.

@Yvonne111,
Thank you for your input. I have read about how smoking in general can aggravate symptoms. However, it specifically pertains to products containing nicotine or tobacco, including e-cigaretts.
I understand that THC and CBD products fall into such a gray area in that there is such a lack of research and support from medical communities. However, I am hoping that with a large consumer base of both THC and CBD products, someone who also have Chron's and is also a consumer of such products can attest to its effectiveness in mitigating Chron's symptoms and can share whether or not they have experienced any interactions with medication they are currently taking to treat their Chron's symptoms.

There’s been lots of research that shows smoking exacerbates Crohns so I’d be cautious if I was you (do a google search and I’m sure you’d find lots of info)
if you are definitely wanting to try THC then edible form would avoid needing to smoke it, but I can’t comment about any possible medical interactions as I’m not medically trained.
