Toilet trouble

Hello, I'm 32 and have been bleeding for about 4 years. Last week I had non stop dieharrea and unbareable stomach pains. Anyway after a week in hospital on a drip and tests they've told me I have ulcerative colitis. I'm out of hosptail now, on a course of steroids and feel better than I did (slightly) but I'm still suffering with dieharrea. All night, it's waking me up my stomach hurts so much. Has anyone else experienced this and if so please can I have some advice? I'm trying to get my head round what's happening to me. I feel like even though I've been bleeding for a while, the symptoms I'm experiencing now have hit me like a tonne of bricks. Thank you in advance x

Hi! I can relate to everything you just said 100%.

I am 30 with UC and just diagnosed last year. I found what helped me was changing my diet. I really only eat chicken, turkey, fish and some veggies and i only drink water. I'll drink cinnamon teas also. No cruciferous veggies, beans, corn, sugar, white flour, onions, tomatoes, dairy, seeds, no fruits or veggies with seeds, the veggies i do eat i remove the skin (too much fiber!), if i eat anything fried i only use olive oil or avocado oil. Everyone is different so you may be able to handle some foods i cannot! I hope this helps and you find some comfort soon!
