Mucus

Wed, October 07, 2020 6:28 PM

I have Crohn's Disease. Often when I try to go to the bathroom, I am not able to pass any stool, but instead just what looks like bloody mucus balls. Is this just something that is "normal" with Chrones? When I do have a bowel movement an increased amount of mucus is present on the stool.

I was diagnosed with ulcerative proctitis in 2012. My flareups include bloody mucus strands and mucus clumps, so yeah, it's definitely a thing in my experience. I use mesalamine suppositories to reduce symptoms. Not a cure.
