UC and Nausea for a Year!!!!

Tue, December 22, 2020 1:14 PM

My name is Michael Shifrin and I have had nausea for over a year.  I was diagnosed with UC several years ago and get Remicade infusions bimonthly.  Recently I was diagnosed with GERT.   I have taken Zofran, Pantoprazole, and others but nothing seems to work.  I also recently had an endoscopy which should minor inflammation.  None of my doctors (GI or Oncologist) seem to be able to help or point me in the right direction to help treat the nausea.  Been in chats and forums seeking insight but no help.   Do you have any ideas or suggestions as I am on the end of my rope?  Thank you.

Thank you.   You describe me on a daily basis indeed.   Doctors have no answers.  Stinks for sure.   Don't know what to do......ideas?

I have exactly the same problem! I've had nausea for YEARS and was just diagnosed with UC March/April 2021. When I had my endoscopy done, my doctor also told me there was mild inflamation in my lower esophagus and stomach, but not enough to be worried about. I was perscribed to take omeprazol but I didn't start taking it until very recently. It helps a little (mostly with the acid reflux I was having before) but I still get stomach aches and nausea on the daily. Ugh, I wish we knew more.

I've struggled a lot with nausea as well, and I know how much it sucks, so I'm sorry.
I've found that sometimes eating really acidic things helps, like a pickle or water with apple cider vinegar or kombucha with vinegar. I'm not sure why but this seems to help. Also, I tend to get more nauseaus when I drink or eat too much at a time, so if I eat smaller meals and drink a little bit at a time I have less problems.
I wish I could give you more advice but this is some of what has worked for me.

Well for pregnancy they recommend vitamin B6 - 25 mg twice a day I think it is and then unasom at night. Lots of people have good success with that so might be worth a try?
