Been in a bad flare for about 2 months already..

Mon, December 10, 2018 3:37 PM

So I just joined this website after having OC for 13 years. This vent might be kind of scattered but here it goes. I am currently in a really bad flare with my colitis as I have had it for about 2 months as I am bleeding a ton and going to the bathroom anywhere from 15-20 times a day.  I always eat very clean normally and even during flares but this time I stuck to my normal diet in the beginning but I was still going to the bathroom a ton anyway. So I just decided to say f it and started enjoying foods during my flare. Things I do not normally eat on a daily basis I am eating because well if I am going to go through the pain on a clean diet than I might as well go through the pain on no diet. I have had this illness for almost 13 years so I am very aware of what usually can hurt my body. I don't think there is really any point of this topic other than I just wanted to vent atp. I currently have a Remicade infusion coming up in 3 days so I am praying that puts me in remission. Two months ago I had my infusion and started to improve but something happened in my life that created a lot of stress and it sent my flare back into the really bad state. Feel free to reply and comment as I just don't know anymore as I do not want to have to go a hospital if my Remicade infusion does not get me better.  Kind of worried here because usually when I have an infusion I am better in a week or so. I am also pretty worried during the day of my infusion because I am going 2 be hooked up to a machine around a lot of people having to deal with going to a bathroom in a hospital where everyone is using the same one and just normal OC concerns really as I am sure all of you can relate. Just looking for some feedback and opinions in general on if anyone can relate to my situation or just any type of feedback like I said.

Anyway, now would be a good time for an update on my situation. I went to the emergency room 2 days because my family feared I was in a state of severe dehydration and also they wanted me to get a blood test to make sure I am not anemic. I also have had a really bad cough for about 7 weeks that just won't go away and sores in my nose that bleed a ton every morning. I think this is all related because my immune system is really weak because of my UC so nothing is healing. I talked about how I had an infusion in 3 days on my initial post and my doctors advised me not to get it because of my cough as I had to go for chest x-rays today I instead to make sure it was just a cough. Thankfully the cough is just a cough. I can not get an infusion if I am sick so I am not sure what the next step is going to be. I am seeing my UC doc tomorrow morning so hopefully, I get good news and I am actually able to get the infusion but I was under the impression an infusion could make things you are carrying even worse. A damn cough just won't go away as I am coughing up a lung at times during the day and yea the damn nose thing feels like I have razor blades in my nose everytime I touch it or move my nostrils.  Having UC is bad enough lol so yea I am kind of a physical mess right now lol.. Ugh

Jocelyn that was so nice and I was really touched by your response. Really much appreciated, thanks for all the kind words as it means so much to me as its always nice to know someone else can relate as sometimes I feel so alone cause no one truly understands.

Hey there... I am reaching out because your post was the first one I was drawn to read on this site, as today is my first time using it. Wow love, I am sending so much prayer your way. May you feel healed inside somehow through this all. I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2011, and I am currently coming out of a 2 month long flare... I can really relate to how you express you are feeling. I too have felt very much like "F it !" Because everything hurts... But I am trying really hard to keep, keeping my food journal amd mantras. Letting the evidence remind me that feelings are not facts. I wish I could offer some advice but I am trying to heal mentally emotionally too from all the PTSD of flaring up etc... And all I can offer sincerely is to level with you. I am holding out hope we will get to the next light in the midst of our long tunnel. Just know that you are a bad a$$ and so much MORE than the body you were given 🙏 My name is Jocelyn, and Im sending my love. You are never alone xo
