Hey there! Sounds all too familiar a situation and it's a lot to handle. First, my condolences on the loss of your dad. I haven't lost a parent and can only imagine what you're going through. Secondly, I can relate to having no support. I no longer have a partner and to some degree, it's more than ok with me. However, my family support system is non existent. My mom, for the first time, attended a GI post colonoscopy appt with me. I'd hoped she'd grasped some of what I was going through. The next day, she wanted to lay blame on me for stopping the massive prednisone after 3 weeks of absolute misery. Thirdly, I do believe the disease can be managed through diet and exercise...I prefer to not add harmful pharmaceuticals to my body...admittedly, there are times when I think I should agree to the infusions...but after my experience with AZA and Humira, I am skeptical. You're lucky to be able to work. I was sacked after fmla ran out and my flare was still full force. That flare lasted 3 years. I reached remission just 4 months before this flare reared its ugly head. Try to stay strong. I know it's tough..and lonely. If ever you need a friend to talk with, I'm here and will gladly provide my contact details.
