Diarrhea and hydration challenge post op

Sat, March 23, 2019 11:11 AM

I had an ileocecal resection 3.5 weeks ago for a bowel blockage (from scarred fistula) and found it really frustrating to keep enough fluids absorbed to keep from getting dehydrated. My fingers were prune-y and I was so weak feeling. I find that if I follow the Cleveland clinic diet advice for this AND I drink beverages a few minutes apart from when I eat, it really helps. This last few days has been much better in terms of how I was feeling the first 3 weeks. I have been to a Chinese restaurant recently and loved the white rice, the pasta, the pot stickers.
