Post prolapse surgery

Mon, July 08, 2019 9:04 PM

I had rectal prolapse surgery 6 weeks ago (rectopexy with mesh). Symptoms were constant urge to push, bloood and mucus stools and weight loss. I am now back to the same exact symptoms. Doc has ordered a defocography test 2 weeks from now but I’m in such severe pain in my rectum area. Been on linzess for 2 years due to my colon barely working. Have had a colon resection (sigmoid), rectocele repair and ischemic colon in the past. I’m so worried that my surgery helped for about 3 weeks but now I’m back to square one!! Anyone else had this happen? I can’t stand the urge to push constantly! And when I sit on the toilet and push, of course nothing happens. But when I use my hands and push on the area between the vagina and anus, I get mucus and most of the time a piece of something that looks like flesh or tissue. I can’t tell what it is. Hoping for some advice or similar stories. I’ve messaged my colon surgeon and hope to hear back tomorrow, as I can not wait 2 weeks in this much pain!!
