My husband, son, and now daughter all have Crohn’s

Sat, August 04, 2018 11:21 PM

My husband was diagnosed with Crohn’s in 2007, and is now on his third injectable medication after becoming resistant to Humira and Remicade. My 11 year old son was diagnosed with Crohn’s in 2017 and is on Remicade. Now my 9 year old daughter has just been diagnosed with Crohn’s and will be starting Remicade soon.
Honestly, I’m trying my best to stay positive, but it’s really hard. I’m trying turn my focus on my daughter right now as she transitions into all of this, and luckily she has a great support system from her dad and brother who understand what she is going through, but I just want to break down and cry sometimes.
Anyone out there taking care of a whole family with Crohn’s?

I am so sorry to hear this! I can’t even imagine what you are going through. IBS runs through the majority of my family, but my brother ended up with ulcertive colitis. I can say life has been tough having him sick, but I will also tell you that I have so much love, respect, admiration and appreciation for who he is and what he has been through. He is a total warrior. There is going to be tough days yes, but find that silver lining whenever you can and grab hold of it. I hope and pray your family is well.
