How to help my teen deal

Thu, February 21, 2019 2:40 PM

I am at a loss on how to help my teenage daughter deal with her chronic pain.  She is angry a lot of the time and she takes that anger out in her family and friends. I am told by my family that I am letting her get away with too much as far as her attitude goes because I feel sorry for her and the pain she is in.  I feel so helpless because I can’t do anything else to manage her pain. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with this?

Check out the young adult forum.   There are a lot of teens and young people in that forum.   They may have some answers for you.
Also give your daughter a copy of the Crohn’s & Colitis Guide for Teens with IBD at: https://www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org/assets/pdfs/teenguide.pdf .
Just leave a copy on her bed or kitchen table where she will “find it”.  Don’t try to force her to read it.  She will read it when she is ready.
We can also mail you a free copy, info@crohnscolitisfoundation.org
