Newly diagnosed with Collagenous Colitis

Thu, October 03, 2019 1:10 PM

I have been in terrible pain with explosive diarrhea for the past three months and my complaints fell on deaf ears at my internist.  He sent me to physical therapy as he throught I'd pulled a muscle.  After a month of PT and no improvement, I made an appointment with a gastroenterologist.  After a month of tests, I have been diagnosed with Collagenous Colitis and Barrett's Esophagus.  I don't even know if I belong with this group.  I just know I have no idea what I should eat, but I've lost 11 pounds, have no energy and still am in pain.  Can anyone give me some guidance?  Thank you!

Ok, you’ve been diagnosed with colitis and GERD. I Had that.  Were you prescribed any meds?  Prilosec or nexium   Can do wonders for the GERD and  are available over the counter. There’s a lot of meds available for colitis, some work, some don’t . Its different results for different people. Wish you luck. It’s a terrible disease.
