Fertility After Surgery

Fri, May 15, 2020 12:02 AM

31 years old. Crohns. Had a small bowl resection with fistula repair on bladder in 2014. Have been in remission ever since. Had one miscarriage. Have been trying to convince for over a year now. Im awaiting an upcoming visit to fertility clinic. I think its very likely that the cause of difficulty conceiving may be caused by scar tissue around the fallopian tubes, as my cycles are regular and I ovulate every cycle. Anxiously awaiting answers and solutions. Trying to remain hopeful.Curious what your experiences are with fertility and pregnancy after bowel surgeries. Has anyone else dealt with this? Were you able to surgically repair your tubes? Did you have to do IVF? Appreciate any insight you share. Thanks!

Though many researches say that pregancy could be offer long-term health benefits for ladies with crohn's and they need less surgical interventions. But better to consult with your doctor before getting pregnant because low birth weight, miscarrigae and premature births are also some cons of getting pregnant after surgical treatment. All in all, consult to your doctor.
