Vegan diet

I was diagnosed with pancolitis in 1999.  Had three flares.  First brought under control by prednisone.  Second was more severe and prednisone ididn’t work.  Eventually brought under control by cyclosporine.  Then took 6MP for seven years.  Third flare in 2015 could not be brought under control by prednisone, Humira, Remicade or cyclosporine.  Doctor recommended colectomy.

I said no and started researching diet.  Read effects of vegan diet on autoimmune diseases.

Switched to low fat vegan diet.  Three months later flare went away.  No meds of any type.  Zero problems since March 2017.  It is now Nov 2018.

See website of Dr. John McDougall.  Go to “Success Stories” and watch the video of Sondra Berk.  It might save your health and your sanity.  It certainly saved mine.

When people tell you diet doesn’t matter for IBD, don’t listen.  It matters a lot.

Also, tons of immunosuppressants over the years have resulted in 11 skin cancers.  No one mentioned skin cancer as a side effect.  My legs are covered in scars.  Chest also.  Avoid immunosuppressants and avoid skin cancers.

Go for a vegan diet!  It is easy and it worked for me.  Good luck.
