Mouth Sores

Wed, May 29, 2019 11:53 AM

My 15 year old was diagnosed with unspeficied colitis when she was 5. She has infrequent flare-ups; however, she suffers with chronic canker sores/mouth ulcers.  We have talked with the pediatrician, GI Dr, ENT, dentist. New suggestion is an oral surgeon for a biopsy, but will that really help?  No one wants to help manage it.  We have miracle mouthwash - homemade and prescription, a steroid rinse, every OTC rinse, dentek canker covers, homeopathic borax. We;'ve tried a journal for trigger foods, but it's inconclusive.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Again, they are chronic, huge sores. As soon as one heals, two new canker sores pop up.  Thank you.

My sympathies. I had a huge outbreak right before the onset of colitis. both are autoimmune issues.  You might look into the meds that fight herpes.
