Some truth for anyone suffering from crohns, each time you feel like your taking control of it you soon realize that its impossible. Im 19 now and have had it for 11 years and trust me it doesnt get better, just progressively worse. The most painful part is not having the bottle to end yourself. Sorry for the depressing post but people need to know, especially the recently diagnosed. If Crohns was fatal is would be mercy.

Hi, I am really sorry that you feel that way. There were definately points in my journey where I felt that way too. I am 21 now and while my life is still different from what it was when I was first diagnosed at 14, I have still learned to love my life. What helped me when I felt depressed was writing about it. Getting everything I felt out helped me better understand how I was feeling and made it easier for me to seek out help. Talking to a mental health professional can be a great idea or if you are not a fan of therapists, the Foundation has some great support groups like Power of Two that can be great to just talk to others going through the same thing. Knowing I was not along in my disease journey and that others had gone through what I had was a big help for me to feel more in control of my life. Don't be afraid to reach out to your doctor if you don't think your treatment is working, there are more options from other medications to clinical trials and if you don't think your doctor listens to you, find a better one that will. You can get through this.
