Thank you for the reply. My biopsies came back normal.. So we will see if it returns.
Can I ask how long it took until the next flare? Were you still on medications when it happened? I just finished everything and am very anxious about my diet now. Thanks again

Hi, I was recently diagnosed with UC a few months ago also.  I went pretty much through the exact same thing as you - being hospitalized, etc.  I had symptoms a few months prior to that too, but by the time I was able to get a colonoscopy a month later, my flare was gone and my results were all normal.  Therefore, a diagnosis was not made.  It was only when I was flaring and had severe symptoms again that my GI doc ordered an “emergency” colonoscopy where they were able to see how bad it was, and I was finally diagnosed, and admitted to the hospital for a few days.  It sounds like you’re going through the exact same thing as me, but unfortunately it seems that a definitive diagnosis can’t be made until they can visualize your condition with a colonoscopy and from the biopsy results.  Hopefully, you’ll be able to get in quickly during your next flare and get a more definitive diagnosis.
