Hey guys! 20 years ago I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis which led to a total colectomy and J pouch. Over the past 20 years I have had minimal problems. Most recently, following a pouchoscopy, the Dr found "moderate" Chron's disease ulcerations. I am shocked and scared as my ulcerative colitis was extremely progressive and I went from 1st symptom to surgery in ab a 4 mth period and I thought I was done with all of that. The crazy thing is, I am totally asymptomatic. My GI Dr is stumped as am I how I could be moderate stage with no symptoms. Has anyone had any experience with this? The great debate is whether to start treatment now or not. Obviously I want to prevent further ulcerations and illness, but I also kind of have a problem with starting medication if I don't have to...or have no symptoms. I have tossed around the idea of waiting a month and then doing a pouchoscopy to check progression of disease but also don't want to let things get worse. Has anyone had experience with this?! Or could you speak into treatments? I would be deciding between Humera injection or Remicade infusions. Any advice would help. Thanks!!!
