Diagnosed with Colitis 2 weeks ago in the ER through a CAT scan with contrast. Was given a 10 daysupply of Flagyl. First available gastroenterologist appointment this Tuesday. Told by ER doctor to stay on BRAT diet and slowly introduce new bland foods. Still suffering with diarrhea. Any tips until I get to see the gastro doctor on Tuesday? Beverleytea

Keep following your doctor's orders and take your medicine. Your GI doctor might prescribe you with anti-inflammatory medication to control the inflammation. Make sure to ask for different options if you feel like some treatments aren't working for you. With Colitis, everything is trial and error as the true cause of the disease is unknown. I hope you find something that works best for your health! If you don't like your GI doctor or the direction of the treatment, feel free to switch doctors or seek a second opinion from another GI doctor. Much love from a fellow Colitis patient.
