My 13 year old daughter was diagnosed with crohn's late last summer. Prior to that she was a top runner and soccer player. She missed her fall sports because we were just starting treatments, she had lost a lot of weight and just wasn't feeling good. She's on remicade and azathioprine and feels pretty good. She did both track and soccer this spring, but she is definitely not where she was before she got sick. She has really slowed down. She has very long legs and had a really long fast stride before, now she shuffles along. Wondering if any athletes have had a similar experience? Is this to be expected? Her weight is about the same as it was before she got sick. I'm not sure what to do to help her out. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello! I am sorry to hear about your daughters struggles. You might find the Power of Two program to be helpful, she could connect with other teens who understand what she is going through and you can connect with other moms.
