Newly diagnosed

Hi, I am a 43 year old woman. I was diagnosed with severe crohn's of the small intestine 2 weeks ago. We have known I have this for 14 years, the doctors in syracuse took that long to figure it out..I'm on methotrexate, 8 also have chronic gastritis, and what they call proctitis caused by ulcerative colitis. This is a lot to wrap my head around right now...I'm in a flare that won't stop....so they keep throwing more meds at me. Humera is an amazing med. However I am on my 9th biologic in 10 years for psoriatic arthritis. I j7st really could use some words of wisdom.

Hi! I am sorry it took you so long to be diagnosed. It can definetly take awhile to find a medication that works for you. It took me a year before finally finding the right medication and lifestyle to get me to remission. If you are worried about not being able to find the right biologic, you can talk to your doctor about other lifestyle changes you can make like diet to help better control your symptoms. You can also explore combinations of drugs or surgery. It is always hard when you are newly diagnosed and your flare seems endless, but it does get better. Good luck!
