Walking abdominal pain

Mon, March 20, 2023 11:05 AM

This is my first flare up with ulcerative colitis and I have burning pain when I walk and move around. Is this Normal? My doctor said it's not normal to have a lot of pain with ulcerative colitis.

Hi, I am sorry you are having so much pain. In my experience, abdominal pain can be common with Ulcerative Colitis, but I have not had my pain associated with walking, it is typically assciated with eating and going to the bathroom for me and I would describe the pain as cramp like. I did have issues with stomach acid for awhile, but again, not related to walking. You may want to talk to your primary care provider if your GI thinks it is not UC related to see if there may be something else causing it.
