Hi all!Im new here and looking for feedback. I was diagnosed 3 years ago with UC. Since then I have been in remission thanks to the generic Lialda and many lifestyle changes. I just went to refill my prescription for the first time this year and was in shock. The cost went up over $1000. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what did you do? I just dont know how this happened and what Im supposed to do. I dont want to switch medications or stop taking it but we just cannot afford this. Thanks for any feedback you may have!Sarah

My insurance only partially covers it (I think it was $300-$500/month), so I got free samples from my doctor for a while and also signed up for a discount card from the manufacturer. The problem is, the discount card is only good for a short time each year, so I spend the rest of the year without treatment. I tried a cheaper option, which was a sulfasalazine, but was alergic. I wish I could find a cheaper alternative also.

Hey Fly172girl,
I had a similar situation when I took Pentasa. My doctor's helped me out so much and gave me samples since they get them all the time. I would ask your doctor for that and also call you insurance company to see what is going on. I currently take the generic Lialda and it is covered by my insurance. There was an issue one time, I called them and they sorted it out with the pharmacy. I hope this helps and good luck!
