At Home Remicade Infusion Treatment

Does your child receive Remicade infusion treatments at home?

July 9th will be 5 years that my 17yr old son has been receiving his infusions at a Children's Hospital.   His new insurance told us we need to "find a more cost effective setting for him to receive his treatment."  What do I do??  Has anyone else exprienced this?  I have to find an infusion facility or a home infusion company.  Please help!!!

Most people receive infusions at an infusion center or hospital outpatient setting. I'd imagine that there's a considerable expense for moving that kind of equipment and expertise into a home setting. The first thing you should do is contact your doctor, and your insurance company. They should be able to point you to an infusion center that is both covered by your insurance and within your doctor's netowork.
