Hello all, I am diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis since 2006 and am going through one of my worst flare-ups. I am a consultant with a travel job and have severe urgency and cramping all day. I've been taking the Hydro-Cort Enemas every day for 3 weeks now and while they usually do work this time are not effective. Doctor started me on Uceris and although it felt promising after the first few days I'm not seeing positive improvement after 7 days. Doctor has suggested to wait another week and if symptoms don't improve will switch me to Prednisone (40 MG).
Have others had improvement with Uceris and if so how long did it take? I'm really afraid of the side effects of Prednisone but will have to take it if I cannot get this flare under control.
Thanks,
Saket

It was pill form. I took the Uceris for 2 weeks and did notice 50% improvement, but not enough. I have switched to Prednisone (40 MG a day) with a taper schedule. Today is Day 5 of the Pred. It has helped reduce symptoms but certainly not normal. This has been the worst flare I've ever experienced. I'm hoping i see much more improvement using Prednisone.

is it the pills or is it the foam? I have noticed while more problematic and not as easy as the pills the foam works better for me.
