Hello, I am new to all of this and a first time poster, so please forgive me if this in the wrong topic.

I have been suffering from a chronic anal fistula since May 2015, however multiple colonoscopies have come back negative for crohn’s. Only one stool sample did come back as IBD.

Ive had countless seton drains fitted over the last few years but nothing is working. I’m having a cutting seton fitted on Tuesday next week.

My question is, is there anyone out there that has had a similar case where it comes back negative but you’ve later got an answer? Also anyone with a cutting seton that has been successful.

my specialist is just so perplexed as to why I have such an awful fistula with no good reason for it.

thanks.

I had ulcerative colitis and developed multiple fistulas that drove me nuts.  The pressure would build up until  it popped and bled all over the place.  I had several drains installed and currently it pretty much is under control.  I still develop lesions that weep blood and pus, which always seem to heal up when I am seeing my doctor.  It’s just a nasty little side effect to the colitis
