My only Son was diagnosed with Chrons Nov 2018, so quite newly diagnosed. Modulen did not work for him. Prednisolone with Mercaptopurine isn't working and he has high toxicity levels from the 6MPT, which he has stopped taking temporarily. Drs now want to try him on Inflixamab, which is a biologic, along with Mercaptopurine and Alluprinol. I'm so frightened about the Inflixamab as I have been told by the Drs about the risk of rare and fatal cancers, particularly in adolescent males after taking it. My Son is due to start his intaveanous sessions of the drug on Monday but I am literally sick with worry about it. His Chron's is better than it was before he took the steroids but his fecal calprotectin is extremely high at 4,600. I just wondered if anyone else has their teenage children on the Inflixamab and what they feel about the risks.

My son started Remicade six months ago when he was 16. He is doing great on it! No side effects. Felt better immediately. The risk of lymphoma is very rare. I was very nervous in the beginning also but once I saw the results I'm glad he's on it. I know other teens on this drug also and they all do very well on it.

Quite true and this is what decided it for us. He had his first Infliximab on Monday so fingers crossed.
