I was diagnosed with Crohn's almost 2 years ago, and been on Remicade since. It was working well at reducing inflammation a great deal and healed a couple fistulas, but fter a year there were still some small pockets of active Crohn’s and 1 fistula that was not healed yet.
The doctor doubled my dosage from 5 mg/kg to 10 (every 8 weeks). I’ve had 3 infusions at the higher dose so far and have noticed improvement. However, I've also had some joint pain: knee and hand after 1st one, nothing that I recall after 2nd, and now after 3rd one last Friday, I’m on day 5 of various pains. The First couple of days was a knuckle/finger swelling and pain, I could not move it or straighten it for a day and was a little better on day 2 but still signifiganly limited. Then a couple days of minor knee pain started on 3rd day. Last night as I slept I awoke a few times with pain in my collar bone hurts, hurts to lift arms a certain way or carry anything, and I ache in hips and one shoulder.
Anyone else experience this and if so, what helps? I took Tylenol but so far it’s not helping.

I've been on Remicade since April of this year and I haven't experience any of the side effects you've mentioned. I was on 5mg/kg every 8 weeks, now every 4 weeks. The medication seems to be loosing its potency on me and I will soon be either placed on another immuno surpressant, or may have to resort to surgically remove the section of intestine that keeps causing the obstruction.
