So I don't know about any of you guys, but I have to leave the house in depend underwear (which is so not attractive of a woman in her twenties, lol) but I have been have been have severe/moderate U.C. and 20 + times a day on the toilet.
I'm trying not to let it run my life so I wear depends if I leave the house. The problem I am having is I have such severe diarrhea that I still leak out the sides, I bring a change of pants, wet wipes, the works(luckily my kids are two, so it's easier to have a large bag for diapers without people looking at me funny).
I was just wondering if anyone knows of any adult diapers that hold better?? Or any suggestions that could help me out.
Thanks guys!

Thanks!
I have been pretty good about dieting right, but there are a few things I could probably do better to help.
You have a lot of great suggestions! I knew I shared so much with everyone for a reason!

Hi, I too have had ulcerative colitis for over 20yrs. My doctor would never focus on the diet aspect with me. He used to say "relax"... relax, I had to run to the bathroom constantly. If on the highway, I used to have to use mental exercises to distract me until I got to a bathroom... anyway.. suggestions..
I found that low fiber, low fat diet really works for me. Nothing irratating. This especially helps me whenever I have a flare up. I resort to baked chicken, baked potatos, rice krispies with non-fat milk, pasta no sauce. Additional foods to avoid: coffee, sodas (too much carbination), rough veggies, no grease, fat, no salads.
Once things "quiet down" then slowly reintroduce the foods. I also have involved myself with counseling in the past to deal with stress in my life. Infact, I dealt with issues I did not even realize were stressing me.
I will you much luck. Oh one more thing, my doctor put me on FiberCon. wow that also made a huge difference. I was actually annoyed that he did not tell me about using it 10yrs earlier.
Good luck, Deb
