Meds for Flare Ups

Hi All,

I was diagnosed in November '08 after 25 years of horrible stomach aches (I'm 26 now). I was put on Asacol which was helping in the beginning, but hasn't been doing much of anything for me over the last month (maybe I need a higher dosage or new meds?). I've been very careful as to what I eat, but every now and then an ingredient will slip past and I won't realize until it's too late. It causes such horrible stomach aches. My stomach bloats to the point where I look like I could be pregnant and I feel like with every breath I take I'm at risk that my stomach might just tear open down the center like a seam. Pepto doesn't do anything for me, other than make me more sick; so I was curious as to whether or not you guys know of anything I can take for the pain? I'm in agony! Thanks!

Try the Garden of Life. From Jordan Rubin. He has a company that gives herbs for crohns and he has a book that is amazing. Although 25 yrs of pain from crohns. I cant imagine. Not knowing what the... is going on. The stuff he went through to find a cure. The book is called Patient Heal Thyself. I take Primal defense and Perfect food from him. Primal has HSO. Homeostatic soil organisms. Organisms found in soil. He has a really good diet too. I have never been able to stick to it. But take those two above, along with a drug called Balsaladize. Hope this helps. For pain man. doctors are stupid about giving to people with Crohns. Although so many other people with piddly crap get all the pain med they can get there hands on. We can't. Say we will get addicted, like everyone that gets it isn't. Its bull crap. This is not on the records. Outside sources for pain are available. If your doc wont help you out for now. Man I so feel for you. take easy and maybe some things here will help you. DO NOT GET SURGERY. You can always fix yourself. Can't fix yourself if it's gone. Luke DoBrava. ldobrava@gmail.com

when was the last time you had a colonoscopy to check the progression/status of the disease. is it UC or Crohns? As far as the stomach aches, I use to have the dull bad aches on the lower portion of my stomach, there wasnt much I could do with those, but if you are having just bloating and pain from bloating i would just suggest a probiotic, it will at least help balance your system, Flora-Q is a good one, there is also one from Forever Living (i can giv you more info on that) that is a probiotic as well. it all helps balance your stomach. but its not a pain reliever, but it helps, and is something you should probably take regardless.
