Diabetes 1 and Crohn's?

Fri, September 12, 2008 1:36 PM

I posted in the "newly diagnosed" section too.  I was just diagnosed with CD.  I'm 20 and in college in South FL.  I'm having a really hard time coping with this reality because I'm also a type 1 diabetic and have been since I was 5.  I was optimistic and really didn't think it could get any worse, but it has, and now I feel extremely alone, sad, overwhelmed, confused.  If anyone also has diabetes and CD, please let me know! I can't be the only one out there.  It's hard to relate to some of the postings because I don't have excessive diarhhea (yet?), but I do have pain, vomiting, naseau, little or no energy, and sometimes fever which is complicated by the fact that when my blood sugar is low, I HAVE to eat.  Now, I have no appetite, although I think that is just from the extreme sadness I feel.  So please, if you can relate, it doesn't have to be diabetes only- maybe you have another chronic illness that affects your daily life, please IM me.  I really need to talk to someone outside of the realm of my perfectly healthy friends and family.  I'm "moccacheeno" on IM.
