Has anyone ever tried praying to the Holy Spirit for healing and tolerance.  Jesus said that he will be sending the Holy Spirit to be with us.  The Spirit dwells within us the Bible says.  I have been praying for the Holy Spirit to give me peace and healing.  The miraculous thing is that it is working for me.  Has any other believers experienced this form of healing and peace?  How do you pray?

I had no where else to turn. When I was first diagnosed in 1971 (wow the stoneage!) I just had my parents to help me. But eventually I needed something more and I found it in Jesus Christ.

The doctors gave me a 70% chance of dying in 1975- (still the stoneage concerning Crohns). However, I am still here and feel better than ever. Oh I have my bad days but I know no matter what happens I will be with him for eternity in a new body with new intestines !!!

Yes, God is good!  All the time!!  I suffer from Crohn's, but the Holy Spirit is always with me.  When I feel particularly bad, I pray and I feel a peaceful calmness come over me.  My wonderful husband has leukemia and when I feel panic-y about losing him, the Holy Spirit calms me.  My body is flawed but I will never lose faith in my loving God.  All you believers out there, let's remember James 1: 2-4 telling us that trials in our lives lead us to perseverance and perseverance leads to maturity in Christ.

i am a christian and a ulcerative colitis patient.  i do pray for healing of this disease.  god doesn't always answer the way we want him to, but he always answers.  i have been in a flare-up for 10 weeks, but started seeing improvement monday.  i know god hears my prayers.   i don't know if he will choose to completely heal this disease, but he'll walk the valleys and mountains with me.  i have many many blessings in my life.

i have a great husband, 2 beautiful children and 3 beautiful grandchildren.  god is good!!!!

Yes I believe GOD hears and answers all our prayers not always the way we want or as soon as we would like, GOD walks the path of life, the peaks and valley's with us all the days of our lives,please believe and trust in GOD!

I believe that God guides in every aspect of our lives.  When something "bad" happens, I try to look for the lesson God wants me to learn.  There was a time, many, many year ago that I wasn't sure if there is a God.  So, I asked God "if you are real" please help me out of this situation & help me know it was you.  The situation didn't resolve asap, but, since then I am 100% GOD hears our prayers & guides us the way HE wants for us to learn & experience various life situations to become better human beings.

Last July (2007) I had to have a total hysterectomy.  They had to do several tests on me to check the status of my Crohn's.  The tests confirmed that I did in fact have active disease.  I was told there would be a good chance I would come out of the surgery with a colostomy bag because they weren't sure what they would run into while performing the operation to remove all of my female organs.  I had previously had several abdominal surgeries including a partial resection of my small and large intestines.  I was prepared for the worst.  I was also prayed for (and prayed) before my surgery.  I had not only my gynocologist but a general surgeon in case problems occured.  When the general surgeon ran my bowel (literally inch by inch) he found it to be "pristine" (his word exactly!)  NO CROHN'S even though the tests that previous week showed otherwise.  The hysterectomy was done with no complications and I have been Crohn's free ever since.  I can only attribute this to being healed by God.  I never would have thought it could happen to me but it did.  So yes, I totally believe you are being helped by prayer.  God is good!

if it makes you feel better, go ahead and pray.  i can't say it's done any good for me.  i was diagnosed in 1982 and the whole time since i've prayed that i be healed.  all that's happened is that the crohn's has gotten worse.  recently i've been dealing with a fistula in my navel that constantly leaks stool.  it's messy, nasty and at times very painful.  yesterday in the middle of a lot of pain i prayed that if god is really there and is the loving, kind god i hear about in church, that he would show himself to me, because i sure can't find him.  my answer was that shortly afterwards, a piece of my tooth broke off.  *** it, he's not there, at least not in the way i've heard.  my experience just doesn't jibe with what i hear taught in church.  is what he did to job a loving, kind god?  why did he torture the poor guy?  to prove a point.  why does he let me go through crohn's? if he cares why does anyone suffer with this stuff? my opinion has changed.  i've quit looking for the loving, kind, merciful god, i agree with coleridge; he's like the watchmaker who, once he's set the watch in motion, leaves it alone.  god has set the universe in motion according to certain laws and rules, and let it go.  so keep praying if it works for you.

Prayer is truly powerful! Jesus is the Great Physician. As I await a capsule endoscopy to see how my Crohn's is healing, I've been praying the scriptures about God's promises outloud, as well as reading about Jesus healings in the New Testament. I highlight the verses, read them aloud and claim them for myself before I get out of bed in the morning and again at night.  People at my church are praying for me and I know it is making a difference.  Jesus is bigger and more powerful than Crohn's! He knows the plans he has for me.  I am fearfully and wonderfully made. His works are wonderful, I know that full well. (Psalm 139:14) He has already used Crohn's for good in my life and he will care for me each and every day. Have faith in Him - the only certainty, never changing!

Praying is the best thing you can do. The doctors, your family & friends are there to help but only God can give you peace you need in spirit.
