Do any of you ladies have flare ups with your period? I usually don't have contraction pain until my period. That's when everything hurts (joints, fever, abdominal contractions) Though I do experience daily pain, the worst of it is during PMS week. Any suggestions or shares would be appreciated!

My Crohn's is always worse with my periods. For a few years my OBGYN had me on birth control pills where I only got my period every 3 months to try and help with the Crohn's issues with my period. My gastro says a lot of women have issues with flaring around their cycles...

Thanks for your reply Jenn! Interesting since I've had issues with my period since I started...I've had 2 gynos say it was probably endo and put me on the depo shot. This is such a long process-answers are needed! BUT I do feel like this could be what's going on.
I had the same experience! Like something was clawing its way through eeek.
I've talked to my GI about it and she said colonoscopy first...
but with the family history of endo I wouldn't be surprised if that was it.
DId you have it removed? Did you find anything that helped with the pain?

Yes! You're not the only one. EVERYTHING is terrible when im on my period. At one point my boyfriend was staying home from work to take care of me because I was in so much pain during my time of the month. dizzy, weak, severe bleeding, worse part is using the bathroom because it felt like a knife was going through my gut. i brought it to my GIs attention and he sent me to my OBGYN for exploratory surgery and found I have endometreosis and there was some on my bowel. So when Im on my period the Endo and Crohns go hand in hand. Maybe this is something you should talk to your gastro dr about. I just had this surgery done on the 5th so I have not had a period yet to notice any change. Hope you get to the bottom of it! Im always here if you need a buddy to talk to! =] Rocker_mom23@yahoo.com - Jenn
