My name is Ashley I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease when I was 14 I'm now 20...an I was just in the hospital for a week due to a major flare up. It's really taking a toll on me because this is the first time being hospitalized. It wasn't this bad when I was first diagnosed. I was in remission for about 3 years. I just started my first dose of remicade an they have me on prednisone also on a low fiber diet so I don't know what to eat. I just feel like no one understands sometimes with how much pain I'll be in some times. Any good ways to cope with this or to relive stress because my job is very stressful an has a big effect on me. Help!?

Hey Ashley,
I was diagnosed when I was 15 and now I'm 26. Remicade helped me stay flare-free for a really long time so I hope it helps you too. I might be starting to flare again now so I definitely understand how hard it can be.
In terms of stress-relief thats a toughie. Have you ever tried meditating? In high school we did a guided meditation where the teacher spoke and had us all envision a healing light flowing through our body. If you believe that sort of thing it can really help. The power of positive thinking and whatnot.
I find that talking about it can really help, also not talking about it lol. Just talking and laughing with friends about completely unrelated things helps to take your mind off the pain.
