Ovarian Cysts & Endometriosis HELP

Tue, August 11, 2009 12:00 AM

I doubt I'm the only one who has Crohn's and Endometiosis.  I also have cysts caused by the endometriosis, called endometiomas.  Up until recently, I was taking a low dose of percocet daily to control pain and diarrhea assoicated with the Crohn's.  I've been off of it for about a month, and found myself in more pain than I remember being in since kidney stones last night.

I awoke with an awful pain in my left side that radiated to my shoulder.  It was nowhere near tolerable.  This is coming from a woman who is stubborn when it comes to pain tolerance, so much so that my appendix ruptured after 3 days of intolerable pain.  I also almost gave birth at home with my second child after 5 hours of insisting to my husband that I merely had to go to the bathroom as always.

I thought the bleeding that started yesterday was my period, which was 2 weeks early.  I chalked it up to the prednisone and compazine, both of which say they can cause menstrual irregularities.  I'm only sore now, but if last night is ever going to repeat itself, I would like to know what I'm dealing with and if I should be going to an ER.  I begged my husband to take me this morning, yet he just went to work as if all was normal.  I'm starting to wonder.  I know coming off of pain meds can temporarily lower a person's tolerance to pain, but I sprained my ankle last week and didn't shed a tear.  Any advice would be of great help.

Thanks,
Katie

Hello,

I have crohns along with Cysts that after 5 laser surgeys turned into Endometriosis. After a years of pain and unbariable pain I had them do a hystorectomy. Well felt good for a little while then I found out even if you have a hystorectomy the pain from endometriosis can come back. Well I had the hystocrectomy in 2006 and its 2009 and boy oh boy the pain is back just not the bleeding. So, not sure which way would of been better cause now I also have the hot flashes...So, be careful and take care.
