We made it to week 28th! I have been having a UC flare since week 14. I am in bed rest now for I am having contractions due to the inflamatory process. But the flare seems to be more under control. My baby is a little over 2 pounds so he is growing accordingly. I have lost 6 pounds in my pregnancy, not gained 1 yet, but hope this last weeks I get in gear.

Amidala,
I understand you tried to conceive while you were in remission. I thought that if you were in remission when you conceive, you would stay in remission-how did you go from being in remission and then flaring during your pregnancy? What is the point in trying to conceive while in remission versus having a flare up? Sounds like you might flare regardless

I think it's important that you aknowledge that you can never be without meds with UC or Crohn's. It is very dangerous, but you can still try with lialda. I know it´s hard but try not to stress it, this should be an exciting time for you and your husband despite the illness. I hope you get pregnant soon.

Amidala,
I have been pretty stressed about getting into remission which we all know that stress is not good for the body. I'm a pretty bad eater so my goal is to get myself the right nutrients so that I can be as healthy as possible. I really just want to be medication free. I do not want to take the prednisone (steriods) so I have been hesitate about talking them. So did the detox really help? Well my husband and I been trying to conceive when I was in remission and I am a couple days late for my period, but don't feel as if I could be pregnant and plus the test was negative-hmm not sure what's going on.

Hey Durango, I think that the stress of having a flare, achieve remission and concieve ASAP may be the bad guy in you case. In my case, We had to wait about 1 year and a half(on remission), cause I was on 6mp. I got off 6MP in january, had to detox, and in may my doctors said: GO. And by the end of june we got pregnant. It was quite quickly but from january till june that I got pregnant, I was anxious because I didn´t want to have a flare.
It is just natural that you want to avoid steroids. I hope you get in remission with just Lialda. Are you cutting off high fiber food and dairy products? It really helps achieve remission.
I know bloddy stool creeps us out. I do worry about it, and about the hossible cramps and malnutrition since my baby is in the womb. But thank God, the baby is ok. Small, but ok.
I hope you get pregnant when your body is in shape to get you and the baby through the entire 9 months!!!! You´ll be in my prayers as well.

Amidala,
It is so strange, I was thinking about you, wondering how you were doing. So you are still having UC Flare? I sure hope you get into remission, I will continue to pray for you. My husband and I just started trying to conceive about a few weeks ago so hopefully we get prego soon. I kind of had a set back since I just went back into a flare up after being in remission several months prior to us trying to conceive. So right now I am having a flare and I remember you telling me that I need to be well before I do so. I am having such a hard time getting into remission though-is there any key to getting in remission before trying to conceive besides taking your medicine? I am currently taking Lialda but its not seeming to work-my doctor wants me to try entocort but I heard entocort (steriods) are not good for the health of you and the baby so I'm so scared. I just want to get into remission and get prego soon-I can't see myself being prego having a UC Flare-every time I would see blood and mucous in the stool-I would be scared thinking that I was suffering from a miscarriage-how do you deal and cope with it? How long did it take you to conceive this time?
Looking to see if anyone else is dealing with li....
