Has anyone tried getting pregnant or has been pregnant while taking Asacol? I'm getting married soon and I was wondering if anyone has had personal experience with that.

You might want to check out the recent slides added to the CA chapter page. They just had a big conference out there this month and I was looking at the slides yesterday. They had a lot of slides on women and pregnancy too. Just thought I would share. I can't remember if it was the San Diego chapter or the Orange County ones since they both had conferences on the same day, but one just added the slides this week.

thank you for replying! :) that's great to hear that you were able to have a baby while taking medication. I will definitely see my doctor before trying.

I was on Asacol, Prednisone and Remicade when I got pregnant and considered in remission or close to it. Stopped the Rem & Pred and stayed on the Asacol during the pregnancy. I did flare while still in the hospital right after having her. I was fine during most of my preg and right at 34 weeks developed severe preeclampsia- just woke up feeling terrible like I had the flu and went in and the ultrasound showed problems so I was sent right to the hospital. So I was really happy to have already been seeing the high risk doctors. They had to deliver my daughter via emergency c-section. Good luck!
Looking to see if anyone else is dealing with li....
