colitis and little to NO periods.

I have had UC for 11 years this month. in the last few years I have noticed my periods slowing to almost a halt when on Birth control. I had a short time frame when I was feeling much better and got off all my meds. My husband and I decided to try and get pregnant at that time. A year went by with no conception. At the end of the year I had three months straight with no periods. I thought OH YEAH i might be pregnant. Took several tests and had the doctor do the same. NOPE> so they made me get back on Birth control to force periods. I now have my period but they are very short and very light. Almost non existent. I know lots of you will say this is a blessing, except it and move on. I think it is odd. I am only 34 and not old enough to be going through pre-menopause. I take iron to keep from being anemic. I am back on all my meds as the remission didn't last very long. All of this was done under the doctors supervision. I would never do anything this delicate or serious without my doctor knowing what was going on.
So I guess my question is... Does anyone else have this issue? I am wondering if it has anything to do with my weight gain over the last few years and if it is something I should be worried about.

I have the same problem.  But a lot of times I think it is because I am usually underweight or very sick.  Otherwise I don't know what would be causing it for you.
