fatigue

Sat, October 27, 2012 9:35 PM

I am 45 years old and was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis when I was 34 and pregnant with my second child.  I am a Pre-K teacher full time and single mother of a 14 year old son and 10 year old daughter.  I feel like I am missing out on life.  I am so tired all the time.  My job takes everything out of me.  I work 8 to 4 and get home around 4:45p.m.  It feels like I have no energy left for my children.  I am finally off prednisone since September.  I am taking 1,200mg of Asacol.  If anyone has any ideas of how to beat the fatigue please let me know.  I am starting to feel depressed.  Thank you

Hello,

Have you talked with your GI doctor about taking an iron supplement? If you are anemic, an iron supplement may give you a little bit of a boost; drinking water also helps.
