Does anyone have experience with the Specifics Carbohydrate Diet or GAPS diet? It looks very challenging. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated!

After being my diagnosis went from mild in February 2013 to moderate to severe in Jan. of 2014, and I thought I had changed my eating habits for the better I decided to do more extensive research into diet. I eliminated gluten, and sugars. After reading BTVC, I then eliminated starches and grains. I had some great improvement. Part of that was due to being on steroids. I finally started the diet in April and at the same time I was tapering off of the steroids. The tapering period lasted six weeks and everything was working well. I had high hopes, for my doctor wants to put me on remicade and I am not ready, nor do I want to take that high level of medication.
Since being off of the steroid, it has been a very rough few weeks. I have lost 20 lbs and I am in the midst of a flare up. I continue to stay on the diet because I don't have the cramping, just the diarrhea with blood.
I am curios what other people are experiencing on the diet. If you have had setbacks and how long they have lasted.
Yes, I try my best with the SCD. Challenging diet to say the least. You have to be disciplined. You have to train yourself to like foods you're not used to eating. There is a plus to the diet. For me, it does help. No cure yet. But, I definitely feel better.
