I am just wondering if there are others out there who have Crohn's without diarhea? i am atypical I guess. My biggest problem is pain and fatigue. Hoping there is someone else like me.

I am like you too. Sometimes my bowels are loose but never diarrhea. When I have a flare up it is absolutely wicked and accompanied with vomiting. The next three days I feel trashed and all inflamed inside. I was finally just diagnosed last week after 3.5 years of getting so violently sick. I went through every test and finally last September during an e/r visit a ct scan showed inflammation in my small intestine. The following week I did a small bowel series and there was nothing so my GI doc told me I was fine. Maddening. In December I gave up gluten and started using the GAPS diet which helped reduce my gas and bloating in-between episodes. I then went to an integrative doctor who drew blood for delayed food response. My blood reacted against 40 foods. Since giving them up I am a lot better. I highly recommend spending the money on this food test. It is done by Immunolabs.
Last week I went to an internal med doc who has been in practice 30 years and seen cases like mine. I told her my thoughts she told me I have CD which I have now suspected since that CT scan. I feel validation to finally have a name for my mystery illness that has put me into the e/r 3 times. I am not happy I have it but will do everything in my power to avoid meds by using food as medicine. I have come up with some great recipes due to my limitations. I highly recommend a juicer. It has helped me tremendously after a flare up. Fresh carrot juice is loaded with nutrients that is easily absorbed. Natascha McBride the author of GAPS is really on it however you have to find out what your food sensitivities are. That is where the test helps.
Hope this helps.

Be thankful for where you are; and hopeful about where you want to be!
pain and fatique..... how are your iron and B12 levels? B12 doesn't have to be shots.
There are B12 sublinguals that you dissolve under your tongue. taking 1000 mcg until your levels are up then the normal dose....
Yep... IBD affects people differently.

Hi there!
I have been suffering with Crohn's (diagnosed) for the past 6-7 years. I tend to not have much of the severe bowel issues as our brethren, just the severe cramping and stomach sounds..so you are not alone

I am not newly diagnosed but am having trouble keeping the Crohns under control. I am on cimzia, entocort and still having pain, nausea. I have had 5 surgeries and feel like I am running out of options. I had not heard of those diets until today and i am going to check into them. Have you tried either? and had any success? Thanks for your reply, it's comforting to know I am not the only one. (not that you are sick).

Hey I am just like you. I tend not to get diarhea but I do have lactose issues so that will affect me. My pain is in my ribs and side and I feel full and achy. Just don't want to eat. Are you newly diagnosed? What are your meds and do you know about the SCD and GAPS diet? I am just learning everything so trying to figure it all out. Good Luck Send me a post and let me know.
