Xeljanz

Sun, May 20, 2018 3:21 AM

I've had UC for 13 years. I am finally on the tail end of a horrible flare up that put me in the hospital for over a week. I was close to getting surgery. I have been through 3 classes of biologic drugs, all of which appeared to work for at least a year each until they didn't anymore. After a couple months of steroid treatment that I'm tapering off of now, my doctor was able to prescribe me Xeljanz to treat the UC, and successfully appealed to my insurance to cover it. This drug will hopefully be FDA approved for UC next month as there have already been successful phase 3 clinical trials that show it can be effective for UC. The drug is available because it has already been used to treat rheumatoid arthritis since 2012. Anyway, I have been on it for a week, and I haven't burst into flames yet. After I fully come off the prednisone, I'll have more of an idea whether it's working or not. I will update.

I know its most likely illegal but so is the price/markup of these pills. My wife has full coverage of these pills so of coarse she is shipped bottle after bottle. She has a few unopened new 5mg 60 tablet bottles she will sell cheap if this post actually makes it and doesnt get removed email Dph303@gmail.com.

How is the medication working for you? I just started Xeljanz 5 weeks ago and am experiencing good progress. Any chance you could let me know what insurance coverage you have? My coverage is expiring and I will be unable to continue the plan as it's through my spouse's previous employer. I'm scared now that I've finally found something that is seemingly working to elicit remission, I will no longer be able to continue the medication. No insurance plans that I have reviewed will let me know if Xeljanz is covered or not and it's unrealistic to just apply at random hoping that it will be covered.
