I have had stomach/bowel issues all my life, but this latest episode was the worst. I’m sure you’ve all experienced what I went through - pain, diarrhea, blood, etc. I missed over a week of work this time, and I had very little PTO/sick time. Luckily I work for county government, so my job is safe. I had an abdominal CT, blood work and a stool sample done. Nothing significant except for colon inflammation (Duh!). I had my episode in late April, and I didn’t get my colonoscopy until 2 weeks ago. They removed two 5mm polyps and biopsied part of the colon due to obvious inflammation. Now I have to have another CT and more blood work, before they can diagnose me. I’ve had intermittent episodes this week, and I’m getting very frustrated with how long this is taking. Has anyone else had to deal with slow/delayed diagnosis? Also, before you got diagnosed, what was your recommended diet, if any? I’m having trouble finding foods that don’t cause an issue. Thanks for listening.

The waiting is the worst but it sounds like you're doing all the right things and getting the test done needed for an official diagnosis. I'm sure once you get it it'll be a relief but until then be patient. I know it's a trying time. In the meantime, you could keep a journal about the foods you're eating, and how you feel after eating them, even days after eating and them, and you can bring that information to your doctor to maybe help notice patterns or develop an eating plan that might best suit you. I know everyone is different so certain foods might react differently in all iur bodies, but a journal is a good place to start when I was troubleshooting these issues.
