Having been recently diagnosed with Crohns, I have been researching ways to decrease symptoms. I have heard that acupuncture has been helpful. Has anyone had this experience? If so, anyone in New York who can recommend a good one.

I have UC and did accupuncture for about a year. Like many of you my insurance didn't cover it and it was expensive. Also I didn't see results. What I did get out of it was that my Acc. Dr. gave me sound advice on what to eat and a lot of nutritional advice that seems to have helped me. I enjoyed going but it just wasn't working. I tried some herbal teas as well, tasted awful but it wasn't doing anything for me.

I tried acupuncture for my UC in January, and continued through March. I did not notice it help my symptoms, but it does feel good and offer a good opportunity to relieve some stress. My insurance covers it for me, so it was worth a try. I don't go anymore, but it can't hurt to try, especially if insurance can help you out. The only thing that has helped me is Humira.

Hello...I did accupuncture 3 years ago and It was amazing. It helped with my symptoms of colitis and the joint pain that goes with it. Unfortunatley...my insurance does not cover and I couldn't afford to continue. Good Luck!
