Hi Everyone.  I was officially diagnosed with Crohns about 4 years ago.

I had resection surgery 2 years ago after a lot of hosptial stays.  I was hoping that this would leave me free and clear for a while.....however, today I had a colonoscopy and my doc reported that the Crohn's is back full force at the resection site.

Has anyone else had this?  Do you know what happens next?  I really don't want to have to go through resection surgery again - but I have heard on people that have had it a few times or else the colon is removed.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Feeling kinda gloomy after today :(

Hi Nana,  Hey just to let you know .  I had a resection in 72 another in 91 and am acting up again now.  When I had my 2nd resection I begged the dr.s to do it cause I was in so much pain.  I've got i ft. left of my small colon so i'm watching the symptoms carefully, almost to the point that the dr.s probably think I'm a hypocondriac.  Ha!  Anyway, watch what you eat and keep a good attitude whether your resected again or not hang in there. Hello,

You have a great attitude, keep it up, I have had 6 resections for my Crohns and doing pretty well,  My first surgery the Crohns came back a year later, the second surgery I had 2yrs and the lade 4 surgeries I had 5 yrs in between.  I am on maintance meds 6mp, pentasa and b12 injections.  You will start to feel better and maybe with medications and diet you will be ok.  My brother also has Crohns and had 1 surgery 22years ago and has not needed one since.  you are in my prayers and keep smiling.

Hi,

Mine came back after 5 years. I had another resection and was good for 20 plus years. Its back but new meds (Humira) seem to be keeping it at bay.

It's normal to be gloomy but try and keep a positive attitude. Feeling bad is a way of life for us, we've got to adjust and make the best of what we have. Keep a good attitude and don't dwell. If you feel down, come on the site and communicate it. I guarantee you'll feel better in no time. It helps to let it out. Try and find a local group so you can find an outlet for your frustration. You might find someone you can talk to helping someone else out too.

Good luck, Keep up a Good Attitude
