Hi, first time writing.  I am very very frustrated.  I have had constant issue with flare up for the last year and a month.  One of my GI docs misdiagnosed me after obtaining c-diff in his procedure at the hospital.  Told me I had hemmroids!  The infection put me back into trouble.  (Last June I had obtained remission after eight months.)  My second GI doc is a genious but a bit of a diva.  He diagnose the infection with proctitis which in turn I regressed.

In October I felt better and decided to go back to work.  I had been on disability for almost a year just to get better.  Was at work for 2.5 weeks when it all started to flare up again.  It's progressed to very painful cramps and the usual bloody diarhea.  My second GI refuses to put me back on disability.  I'm in the bathroom every hour to two hours and in between the cramps are constant.  How does one work in those conditions?   And he wants me to take a medication that bothers my eye sight.  Says there must be something wrong with my eyes!

What does one do?  It's not like I can go to work and actually do something with the exception of sit in the ladies room for most of the day in pain.  My boss is not happy and is trying to understand.  I can't expect them to hold my job after a year.  Is anyone up against this?

Do UC patients go out on disability?  My GI doc says he has never placed anyone on disability with UC.  I would think it would depend on what you do and how bad the colitis is.
